• About Newport Cottages

  Newport Cottages was born as Pockets and Cristina Alvarez were furniture shopping for their young sons, they quickly discovered that options for nursery furniture were limited. With a background in adult furnishings, Pockets and Cristina decided to try their hand at nursery furniture.  Newport Cottages is a brand known for it’s American made craftsmanship, quality materials, and customization options. Newport Cottages uses only domestic hardwoods in the construction of our furniture.  (Poplar frames, Birch drawers, Maple top/sides).  The brand avoids using particle board, MDF or other synthetics. Their paint finishes are non-toxic, lacquer based, very low VOC paints.  VOC’s are solvents that are released into the air as paint dries.  Newport Cottages paints have been tested for over 100 different harmful substances such as lead, mercury, arsenic and other toxins. Materials used in the construction of our furniture are CARB (California Air Resource Board) certified, which exceeds Green Guard standards.
